Great Bend Rec EnrollmentFrequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to register?

Register at least five working days prior to the starting date of the program or activity to prevent cancellation. Classes are on a first-come, first serve basis. Fees are required when you register. You will be given a receipt to verify enrollment. Please keep a record of dates and terms of activities you have enrolled in. You will not receive any additional information unless they are canceled.

Is late registration allowed?

Registration is required prior to registration deadlines. Registrations may be accepted after classes begin if the class space is available; however, classes are not pro-rated. IN sports programs, late registrations are accepted in the one week late registration period with an increased fee. Sign-up taken after this time will be placed on a waiting list and utilized if players are needed to keep teams at optimum members.

Are refunds allowed?

Refunds must be made prior to the scheduled starting date of the activity. Refunds will not be granted after the starting date. Pro-rated refunds will be given in case of illness or moving from the area once the class has begun. There is a $5 service charge on all refunds. For IN programs that utilize t-shirts, refunds will be given less the cost of t-shirts. NO refunds on Wellness Center fees. Refunds may take two to three weeks. Team sports refunds will be allowed if a team withdraws from this program prior to the deadline of the late registration period. After this late registration period, no refunds will be allowed.

What if the maximum for a program or activity has been met?

If a class has met its maximum enrollment, patrons have the option to add a name to the waitlist. In the event of an opening, a Great Bend Rec staff member will contact individuals on the waitlist. Patrons cannot be enrolled in a program and be on a waitlist for another session of the same program.

Does Great Bend Rec ever cancel programs or activities?

Great Bend Rec reserves the right to cancel, combine, divide classes/activities, change dates, times or locations and make other revisions as deemed necessary. You will be notified if a program is canceled due to insufficient enrollment. Refunds may take 2-3 weeks to process

Can my child attend with me?

Due to safety and distraction issues, children are not allowed to attend adult classes with their parents. Siblings of class participants are not permitted in the teaching area.
